Other carabinieri musical groups
he Carabinieri Band constantly expanded its binieri were present, the need was felt to establish
repertoire: in addition to military music, it musical groups of trumpeters or small brass bands,
T gradually developed a rich and imaginative which today no longer exist. As a result, local bands
repertoire. Meanwhile, in the areas where the Cara- sprang up, which played the interesting role of am-
bassadors of music who were able
to successfully offer a repertoire
ranging from military music to
lighter music such as operetta ari-
as or popular songs, which were
well-known at the time, but subse-
quently descended into oblivion.
For this reason, it is frequent to
find references to brass bands and
military bands in the documents
about military events or official
celebrations, while it is more dif-
ficult to find traces of informal
music performances representing
the social function of music even
in difficult times in history.
