Le unità antiterrorismo

Abstract

L’Arma dei Carabinieri è una Forza di polizia nonché corpo militare in grado di
assolvere una serie di funzioni differenti e che contribuiscono non solo a garantire difesa
e sicurezza al territorio e ai cittadini italiani, ma anche a supportare le missioni militari
nazionali all’estero.
A seguito degli attacchi di Parigi del 2015 che hanno rivelato un nuovo modus operandi
delle cellule terroristiche di matrice jihadista, Roma ha deciso di dotarsi di un dispositivo
antiterrorismo che possa intervenire rapidamente su tutta la penisola in attesa dell’arrivo
delle Forze Speciali.
È proprio l’Arma dei Carabinieri, grazie all’addestramento di stampo militare e alla
capillare presenza sul territorio nazionale, a fornire delle unità specializzate capaci di con-
tenere una o più eventuali azioni terroristiche in atto anche simultaneamente su più obiet-
tivi.

The Carabinieri Corps are both a law enforcement agency and a military force capable of ful-
filling several different functions which contribute not only to guarantee the defense and the security of
Italian citizens and territory, but also provide support to the national military missions conducted
abroad.
As a consequence of the 2015 Paris attacks that revealed a new modus operandi of the jihadist-
inspired terrorist cells, Rome decided to develop an anti-terrorist device that could intervene quickly all over
the peninsula while waiting for the arrival of the Special Forces.
It is precisely the Carabinieri Corps, thanks to the military training and a widespread presence
over the national territory, that provides specialized units capable of containing one or more possible ter-
rorist actions even if they take place simultaneously on different objectives.
