A task force against maltreatment of animals

Summer is near and again we have to face the problem of abandoned
animals. And it is just from it that dog straying comes out and, mostly
in the South, assumes a dramatic dimension.
Do you think that educative campaigns are now out-of-date? Should it
be useful a zero tolerance policy even towards people that abandon
animals?

A person that abandons an animal should be considered as a criminal,
and prosecuted as such. In this respect I am pursuing to reinforce ani-
mals respect control. It is also important, starting from schools, to pro-
mote educational projects so to teach children to love animals. In any
case we must act so to be sure that all the legal measures against tran-
sgressors are sternly applied.
