      What prevailed, using the two labels currently used in papers related to
ecology: “shallow ecology” over deep ecology. As we said earlier, the develop-
mentalist over the conservationist approach.

      We must admit that, for many years, the State Forestry Department had per-
ceived the weakness of the environmental awareness that refused to be modern
and technical but they had already chosen to be developmentalist. The State
Forestry Department had highlighted a short circuit and two blunders in the envi-
ronmental rights: demonization of agriculture and the strong rebuttal of
Christianity accused of selfish anthropocentrism. On the contrary, the State
Forestry Department found in agriculture, despite the debate on pesticides, an
anthropologic quality connected to the contact with nature. In addition, they found,
among other things, an ethical approach towards the natural world. We were right.

      Earlier, we heard from Dr Caselli (Public Prosecutor), that, mostly in Italy,
we can see a form of praise to biodiversity and to the quality of life in the food
farming field in which we are world leaders. All this has reached a remarkable
economic value becoming a standard in the use of the territory.

      With regard to Christianity, Pope Francis has been repeatedly quoted: he
