Training

The Force provides the necessary training facilities for individual and collettive preparation ranging from basic military training to more specialized career training. The Training School is required to prepare participants to carry out their military and public order duties to their best ability thereby maintaining the high standards of the Institution. To archieve the above objective, the Carabinieri Training School Command controls and coordinates the training organization which is made up of the following entities:
- The Carabinieri Officers' College, whose headquarters is based in Rome carries out many training activities including the following:

Picture showing a marching unit of the Corp.. Officer Training Course "Applicazione" for permanent service Military Academy candidates (Normal Role). These two year courses are followed by a final year in specialist training after which a Degree in Law is attained;
. Officer Training Course "Applicativo" for Reserve and Warrant Officers who successfully passed a public entry examination to be promoted to Carabinieri Lieutenant in permanent service in special branches (Special Role). This is a one year course;
. Formation Course for Officers of the Technical-Logistic Role. This is a one year course and is designed for officers who will be working in the administration, scientific investigation, data communication, engineering, medicine and veterinary sectors;
. Officers Temporary Service Course for the formation of Auxiliary Officers for special branches and technical-logistic branches. This is a four month course;
. Specialist Courses for technical-professional training before promotion of Captains to higher ranks and university lectures resulting in the attainment of a Masters Degree;
. Seminars training and refresher courses for specific problems and sectors.
- Warrant Officer and Brigadier Training School, based in Florence with detachments at Velletri (Rome) and Vicenza for the formation and training of Warrant Officers and Brigadiers of the Carabinieri Force in the following:
. Velletri (Warrant Officers 1st Regiment) First year of a two year basic training course for Warrant Officers;
. Florence (Cadet Warrant Officers 2nd Regiment). Second year of two year course for Warrant Officers during which training is carried out in technical-professional subjects resulting in a Degree in Safety and Social Control;
. Vicenza (Cadet Brigadier Regiment). Three month specialist professional training course for Brigadiers.
Aperiodical courses are held at the three centres for other members of the Armed Forces and Police Organizations including members from overseas as well as training courses and professional qualifications for other ranks.
- Carabinieri Cadet Training Schools
Picture showing the oath taking of an Officer.Provide basic military, technical-professional training for young people who join the Force. There is an 11 month course for permanent Carabinieri, a 5 month course for Auxiliaries who are enlisted for a 4 year period of service and 3 months for those enlisted for one year. Carabinieri Training Schools are divided as follows:
. Cadet Carabinieri Training School for permanent service in Rome with branches in Campobasso and Iglesias;
. Cadet Carabinieri Training School for Auxiliaries in Benevento and a branch in Reggio Calabria;
. Cadet Carabinieri Training School for Auxiliaries in Turin and a branch in Fossano.

The following are examples of some of the specialist training centres:
- Foreign Language Office of the Carabinieri Training School Command in Rome responsible for teaching foreign languages and the certification of required standards;
- 2nd Mobile Brigade Training Centre in Livorno which provides basic training for the selection of personnel for international missions in particular those required for Multinational Specialised Units as well as public law and order training procedures.
- Carabinieri Shooting Training Centre in Rome for:

. research and experimentation in weapons and equipment as well as in real combat skills;
. develop specialization courses for shooting instructors and marksmen.
- Training Centre in Selva di Val Gardena provides training for skiers, rock climbers, mountain rescue workers, anti-avalanche squads and preparation for representatives of the Force in winter sport competitions.
- Specialist Telematics Training Centre in Velletri which provides specialist courses in data communication.
- Carabinieri Helicopter Group at Pratica di Mare, Carabinieri Scuba Centre in Genova, Carabinieri Dog Handling Centre in Florence and Carabinieri Mounted Regiment in Rome which provide specialist training in their respective sectors.
