| Collaboration between the International Institute of
Humanitarian Law and CoESPU |

Uninterrupted the cooperation between the Center of Excellence for
Stability Police Units and the International Institute of
Humanitarian Law of Sanremo.
The two Institutes, that on the 2nd of October 2008 in Vicenza
subscribed a Memorandum of Understanding, in order to exchange
lecturers, to tackle the International Humanitarian Law as well to
develop the training capabilities in order to provide specific
courses to personnel that would be deployed in the delicate
framework of the Peacekeeping Operations.
In the morning the Director of the IIHL's Military Department, Col.
(UK) OBE Darren M. STEWART and the Ten.Col. CC Angelo Simeone,
Deputy Director of same Institute, visited the Center of Excellence
for Stability Police Units.
The officers have been received by CoESPU's Director, Brigadier
General Umberto Rocca, and they participated at briefing held by
Col. USMC Mark Franklin, CoESPU's Deputy Director and Col.
Francesco Bruzzese del Pozzo, Department and Research Chief. The
event was a remarkable occasion for exchanging ideas about the
courses and the different but correlated activities performed by
the Institutes.
The delegation visited also the logistical infrastructures
attending in the meanwhile a lesson addressed to the 21st High
Level and Middle Management
Courses.
