CoESPU, visit of the General Commander of the Carabinieri and of the United States Ambassador

The 28th of January the USA Ambassador, Mr. David H. Thorne, accompanied by the General Commander of Carabinieri visited the CoESPU.
The Centre, hosted in the historical "Generale Chinotto" compound provides the training for the International Stabilization Unit of several foreign countries, in order to be deployed in peacekeeping operations. In the occasion the CoESPU's Director, General Umberto Rocca, has explained the activities conducted in the training framework as well the acquainted result, following the G8 See Island action plan and agreement.

The Centre is now not only a training pole but also a doctrinal hub as well an interesting cross - experiences facilitator in sharing of the lesson learned in the field of Peace Support Operations subject.
The Centre training capability has been recently shown, during the EUPFT 2009 exercise, that took place the last months of September and November, with 639 participant belonging to 24 Police Forces of 19 foreign Countries.
During the visit, General Gallitelli an the USA Ambassador, visited the activities carried out by the attendees of the 19° High Level and Middle Management Course. The coursist, coming from Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Egypt, Jordan, Indonesia, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Romania, Senegal, Serbia and Ukraine, have shown a deep involvement in the development of the training program, all of them have hardly worked in order to reach a qualified Police Units Standard.

The Ambassador has confirmed the General Gallitelli's appreciations to the Centre for the performed and developed activities consenting a professional deployment in the delicate peacekeeping framework, consenting alike the widespread dissemination of the Carabinieri expertise, obtained in the several accomplished missions in the last decades.
