European Union Police Forces Training The CoESPU, in Vicenza, worked out and housed the "EUPFT 2009" exercitation. It has been developed in three sessions beginning from the 14th of September 2009.
The exercise, very specific by itself being the only registered case of integrated training, has allowed a deep knowledge and mutual understanding among the different tactics, capabilities and specific qualities belonging to the several European Police Forces that have been involved.
After a pre-training of seven days, the exercitation consisted, during the whole second week, in a complete role-playing game, full of concrete interventions with CRC capabilities effort, simulated investigations, as well as counter organized crime actions, forensic procedures and high risk arrest procedures with hostage liberation.
European Union Police Forces Training The participants were 639, belonging to 24 different Police Forces of 19 European Countries.
The European Union CIVICOM representatives have expressed great satisfaction and judged the exercitation very fruitful; they have been presented the activities the last 15th of October, together with the delegated of the European Commission, members of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affair and others military authorities.
European Union Police Forces Training Paramount activities have been developed and conducted the 5th of November, where in Longare (Vicenza) the Chief of several European Police Forces have been welcomed by LT General Stefano Orlando, Carabinieri Deputy Commander, to the last phase of the EUPFT 2009.
At the end, the 6th of November, the graduation ceremony took place at CoESPU, where has been highlighted the manifold training performance developed through the exercitation; the integrated Police capabilities trained in every phase of the EUPFT 2009 as well the commitment of the trainees.
The final lessons learned about criticities pertain to the:

  • working language;
  • radio communication network, it should be provided at national level for the lesser units and in a common working mission language for the staff and main units;
  • coordination between specialized elements and FPU/IPU.

On the whole the activities has required a great logistical effort.
