Mobile Assistance Team (MAT), comprised of Major Pietro Carrozza
from the headquarters of the Carabinieri Corps and Mr. Don Bohn
from the Center of Excellence for Stability Police Units (CoESPU)
conducted meetings in an effort to explore the possibility of
having students from Benin, Togo and Gabon attend the High Level
and Middle Management courses at CoESPU. The MAT took place from 8
to 22 November 2009.
The members of the MAT met with national police and gendarmerie
officers as well as with diplomats from each of the countries as
well as from Italy and the United States. The MAT was very
successful in that all Benin, Togo and Gabon all expressed a desire
to participate in training at CoESPU and to deploy a Formed Police
Unit (FPU) in support of a UN peace keeping
mission. |
