Visit to CoESPU of the Jordan
Directorate of Gendarmerie .

A delegation of the Jordan Directorate of Gendarmerie, composed by
Colonel Atef Odeh Gheith, Assistant Director for Operations and
Training, and Major Mohammed I.A. Shara, Director of Secretariat of
the Gendarmerie Force, visited the Center of Excellence for
Stability Police Units in Vicenza.
Purpose of the visit was to promote the relationship and enhance
the cooperation with CoESPU. The delegation was received by
CoESPU's Director, Brigadier General Umberto Rocca.
The visit permitted to know that, since 1st January 2009, in
Jordan has been established the Directorate General of Darak Force,
belonging to the Ministry of Interior.
Currently the Jordan Darak Force deploy 9 Formed Police Units
(FPUs) in Darfur, Ivory Coast, Haiti and Liberia, besides many
observers.
Therefore the Jordan Darak Force is one of the main Police
Peacekeepers contributors in UN DPKO Peacekeeping missions.
Many of those Peacekeepers are among the 355 Jordan Police Officers
that have attended High Level and Middle management Courses at
CoESPU.
The delegation has also paid a visit to the European Gendarmerie
Force Headquarter.
The members of the delegation expressed words of appreciation for
Carabinieri Corps and their satisfaction for the activities
performed at CoESPU and underlined great interest in renewing and
implementing the cooperation in the
future. |
