Vicenza - The closing ceremony of the 14th Middle Management Course
and the joined High Level Course, took place the last 12th of
December, at the Center of Excellence for Stability Police Units
(CoESPU). The participants, about one hundred and twenty, from
several different Nations, during their permanence have received a
specific training, theoretical and practical, in order to the
develop an individual, as well as a unit capability in absolving
peacekeeping operations and Police interventions.At the closing
ceremony participated the Carabinieri Deputy General Commander,
Lieutenant General Elio TOSCANO, the head of the Consular Political
Office and Department of State representatives from USA, the G8
Japanese chair representative, several DPKO (Department of
Peacekeeping Operations) Officials and ONU directors as well as
some CoESPU's external contributors and lectures. In the meanwhile,
at the Center took place the "G8 Expert Meeting on Peacekeeping -
Peacebuilding".
In the scheduled agenda the G8 Experts have targeted the different
experiences and challenges related to the "Stability Operations"
aiming to recognize the best practise that should be adopted in
Peacekeeping Operations.
The CoESPU's activity has continued from the 13th to 18th of
December hosting the "Doctrine Development Group" (DDG) a UN
working-table that has been programmed to arrange the doctrinal
series containing the framework leading the field-operational
activity. In the same time a "Proficiency, Testing and Training
Team" has discussed all the topics related to the "training
standards" that should be owned by UN
peacekeepers. |
